• This page demonstrates an evolving design of a 6 speed Sequential racing gearbox.

• Haydndesign have been working in this field, so we thought that Pro/design-animation® would assist demonstrate the principles of clutch-less racing gear changes. Originally done in rev2001.. we have been working with these products for a long while!

• By using Pro/Mechanism we set up the skeleton to control via drivers the required timings, then through the use of the trace curve we generated the barrel cam profile.

What we are trying to show.

• Input (engine driven shaft) rotating ( violet shaft ).

• 1st gear rotating, but no drive (yellow splined shaft not rotating).

• During zoom the barrel cam rotates to the engage 1st position.

• the dog (orange) moves towards the 1st gear and drive is engaged.

• Finally the output shaft rotates, we are off down the track.
